WHO VOTES WITH THE FREE STATERS IN MERRIMACK?

Thousands of Free Staters have moved to New Hampshire with the goal of taking over state government and turning New Hampshire into their “libertarian utopia.” Lily Tang Williams is the Free State candidate for Congress, though she is running as a Republican. The Free State Project (FSP) symbol is a porcupine.

The nonprofit FSP uses the political “Liberty Alliance” to tell NH legislators how to vote. The Liberty Alliance now dominates the NH House. The legislators listed here follow Liberty Alliance instructions on how to vote all, or nearly all, of the time.

These libertarians’ goals are to:

  • decrease state funding for public education, increasing property taxes
  • defund public libraries, nursing homes, and recreation centers
  • end local control of town regulations and district budgets
